Hmm, suggestions?

  • Team ID 70513
    Looking to sack at least three or four players near the end of the season and look for some younger replacements.

    I train GK, so the replacements will only get training by playing. Would that be alright? How much could one stand to set out for 17-19yo inad/passable?

  • I don't really get how to use this tool. I put in the info for my keeper and got:

    Goaltending:
    solid
    7.2762127492148

    So... what's that mean?
    I'm not totally sure, but I think that means he is just over solid. Assuming 7=solid like it does in Buddy. i.e. a ways away from Excellent.

  • If you're not going to train someone, buy them older. No point in spending money on anybody under the age of 20 unless you're training.

    i wouldnt buy 17-19 year olds. i'd buy 25 year olds with poor or better experience. you'll be getting rid of inad. or passable players in two seasons.

  • If haven't already, make sure you check out the Keeper Tool (http://hottrick.org/hattrick_keeper_tool.php) at Hottrick.org. It will give you a decent idea of how close a guy is to the next skill level based on TSI & current form.

    There's usually a pretty big jump in price between inad & passable, even though a high inad & a low passable are going to perform about the same.

    Yup. Your guy isa very low solid.

  • Yeah I use that pretty regularly. Training GK's doesn't give me a massive profit, but it's healthy enough to keep my head above water.

    Now I need to reinvest that in some inad/pass players for my actual fielders though. :)

    10 weeks. No, actually I would think 4 weeks. Maybe. Where did that keeper trainer go? :D

  • I agree with junjun. Your non-keeper players aren't really going to get any training at all, so the extra experience will help their performance. Also, older (non-trainable) players are cheaper.

    This depends on how good your coach is and how many assistants you have, but probably 4-6 weeks is a good conservative estimate.

    See Chris, just let the keeper trainer handle it. :D

  • Keeper weeks per pop with a solid coach and 6/4 keeper coaches/asst coaches:
    18 = 5
    19 = 5
    20 = 5/6 (mostly 6, sometimes 5)

    Keeper is suboptimal, but there's still good money to be made. Selling an outstanding keeper should get you close to $2 million, if you can afford to start with a 17 or 18 solid, two seasons of training will get you to world class which I think will push $6 million and at worst will be $5 to $5.5 million. My last trainee sale was started at 19 and trained to magnificent, and he went for $4.5 million.

    Some TSI benchmarks for youth pull keepers:
    2000 = minimum I'd consider for buying a passable (they actually go down to ca. 1500 or 1600, I think)
    2500 = minimum for daytraining
    3000 = approximate transition point to solid (probably closer to 2900)
    4750 = approximate transition point to excellent

    (I don't think I'd want to go lower than about 3500 buying a solid trainee.)

    Passables were running $50k to $100k earlier in the season. Solids can be found anywhere from $150k to $250k or more. I had to pay more like $250k to get a U.S. 18-solid early in the season, but I got my current primary trainee (the magnificent Jonathan Zuidema) for ~$180k in the Netherlands at the beginning of season 22.
