HELP! Advanced Paid Membership Forum Question

  • I'm planning to run a paid membership forum + membership site. People would pay and be signed for some kind of autoresponder service,
    so they would be given acess to one more forum category each month.

    Example:

    A person signs up for the forum, and immediately get access to forum category 1.

    Month 2 he's billed again via paypal, and gets additional acess to forum category 2.

    Month 3 he's billed again via paypal, and gets additional acess to forum category 3.

    Month 4 he's billed again via paypal, and gets additional acess to forum category 4.

    And so on and so on, untill he or she cancels the membership.

    The intent is to achieve a maximum amount of interaction with the customers. All members would get access to a free discussion area, and some parts of the site,whereas only paying members get access to more and more forum categories, containing downloads, tutorials, videos, ebooks, ecourses and so on.

    Is this possible with Vbulletin?

    I have an Aweber subscription, could this be integrated with Aweber?

    Any other ideas? All help is welcome!

  • vBulletin subscriptions need to be taken out after registration and not before or at the same time. Once this has been done, you can use a combination of usergroups, promotions and permissions to achieve what you want to do.


    I personally have never heard of aweber. However, you can ask at our modification site http://www.vbulletin.org to see if integration is possible.

  • Hi, thanks for your answer! I'd love to post this over at the other forum, but it seems I have to buy vbulletin to register there?

    I am thinking of buying vbulletin, but I would like to know if fits my needs before i purchase :-)

    Is there any possibility some of you people here could post it at the other forum? Or try to get a hold of anyone who might know the answer to this?

  • Basically as implied above, you'd need to use third party modifications to achieve what you're asking.

    Whilst vBulletin does have an advanced paid subscription system, it doesn't work in the way you would like it to. I assume this was why you have been advised to enquire over at www.vBulletin.org (http://www.vBulletin.org)

    vBulletin.org is a sister site which offers unofficial support for custom modifictions/hacks etc.
